Adobe Infinite Images
Adobe Labs is experimenting with "Semantic Autogeneration of 3D virtual worlds." These worlds are composed entirely of images gathered from image archives like Flickr or Picasa; and unlike something like, say, Photosynth, which composites 3D space by using GPS and other location-based data, Infinite Image's environments don't necessarily need to exist in the real world. Instead, they are composed by linking together the meanings of images -- or, at least, the meanings as captured by the metadata/tags associated with the images.
