GTA IV's main game allows you date a guy, but not to score (I'm taken to understand he rejects you). Rockstar's 'Bully' gives you extra points for making out with anyone, boy or girl, which of course got the Christian Right all up in arms. BioWare has guy/guy romance in 'Jade Empire', but their other games permits only girl/girl, which I think is lamentable considering how awesome a Mass Effect guy/guy romance with Kaiden Alenko would be. But I digress. There is a drift towards more inclusive simulation options, but a lot of them are constrained. Only the Sims has, as far as I know, a totally inclusive hetero/homo relations system, and it's sort of tacit, which think accounts for the fact there's been no scandal.
ReplyDeleteThere's got to be some hardcore homo games out there aside from the virtual hookup stuff in Second Life etc... If not, hey there's a niche for you game developers!
