European Graduate School

The European Graduate School is a potential example of the sort of institutional-post-institution that Goldberg and Davidson may be pointing too. It's slant is rather Continental - it's major proponents and founding principles are, perhaps not without reason, from schools of philosophical thought such as post-structuralism. I ran into it because of my interest in the work of Slavoj Zizek, one of my favorite philosophers. They post parts lectures online, increasing their accessibility, and they have a focus on studying mass media, cyberspace and the internet in general. They've a long way to go before they genuinely shed their institutional weights, but it's certainly a beginning and, since scholarship does usually require dedicated scholars, insofar as the tradition of dedicated scholarship will continue, it will likely be through organizations such as this.
